Boysen Paint x Festival Mall Murals
Two big murals painted for Boysen paint and Festival Mall, Alabang, in the south of Metro Manila. The Murals are a part of Festival’s Ecommunity Initiative - an environmental awareness and conservation program by their owner, Filinvest. Boysen Paint, a top local supplier of various paint products, sponsored the murals and provided the paint used in production.
The first and larger mural is located at the mall’s Water Garden area - an outdoor park that is open to the public, whose main feature is the Alabang River, a natural river that flows freely through the park from Laguna de Bay. The mural measures 95 Meters by 2.7 meters at its highest point. Taking full advantage of the project, and the platform given, I chose to include Local Philippine Flora and Fauna in the mural - specifically animals that are threatened or endangered - in order to help spread awareness to the country’s immensely rich biodiversity, as well as the plight of the wildlife included. I designed the mural as a celebration of that biodiversity, and how tightly the ecosystem is woven together.
The second smaller mural is located at the mall’s main entrance, in a hallway called Festive Walk. Festive Walk is home to several other murals by local artists, and is an essential walkway for commuters travelling to and from the mall. The term Sustainable Everyday, is part of the Ecommunity initiative’s marketing efforts.

Mural Breakdown - Vlog
Decided to film a breakdown of the mural in order to highlight the different endangered local Philippine fauna I featured in the artwork. My goal with this mural was not only to create artwork for the client, but to raise awareness and use my platform to give a little bit of voice to these creatures who need it the most. Had the opportunity of a lifetime to paint this massive wall in the heart of south Metro Manila, but also took this as a chance to highlight some local wildlife that could use more attention, education, and help. The mural we painted was, of course, to bring color to the landscape, which is all well and good, but the spirit-dampening reality behind it is that the animals I portrayed are in some way or another threatened and endangered. I’m extremely proud of this mural. Not only because we painted something of this size, but also because it was an opportunity to do our part in raising awareness, even just a little bit. Here I breakdown the mural and introduce each animal that made its way into the piece!
